"Cause and effect, means and ends, seed and fruit, cannot be severed; for the effect already blooms in the cause, the end pre-exists in the means, the fruit in the seed." –Emerson

Nontraditional.

I'm a postdoctoral medical student with an unusual background that affords me a unique problem solving toolkit. I initially created this website  to showcase my creative writing and my musings on science and philosophy in the hope of looking interesting to lab heads as I sought a gap year research position, and later to admissions committees as I applied to MD-PhD programs. In the past few years I’ve discovered visitors have mostly been interested in my journey from struggling with literacy as a child, to being a single parent working undercover in the NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau, to starting medical school and graduate research. So I’ve added material to the about me page for benefit of those interested in that subject.
